Our Start in Physiotherapy
Denise was determined to celebrate the holiday season. So she pulled a ladder out of the shed and spent the day putting up Christmas lights.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew a little too hard, the ladder went one way, and she went the other, falling to the ground below. Fortunately for Denise, her arm broke her fall. Unfortunately for Denise, her fall broke her arm. Dazed and confused, she called her brother Graham to take her to the hospital.
After several hours of nurses, doctors, and x-rays, she was informed that the break was bad and required surgery. Twenty-four hours later, she was whisked into the operating room.
Post-surgery was difficult for Denise. She was in a lot of pain and had to undergo physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Even though the physiotherapy team taking care of her was great, when she needed to go home with a product to do her exercises, the clinic didn't have it in stock as their supplier had it on backorder.
Denise's dad owned Classic Health, a medical distributor in western Canada that spent 30+ years providing medical supplies to homecare agencies, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Murray went to the factory and ordered what Denise needed to rehabilitate her arm.
When Denise told the physiotherapy clinic that Classic Health had access to all the products they needed, our physiotherapy division was born.
